HR Professional is Canada’s largest HR magazine and the flagship publication of the Human Resources Professionals Association.

 

Proposal Guidelines:

Submit a query.

Do not send a complete article. The query should be two or three paragraphs that describe:

Theme
Be specific. We will not assign a story on “leadership” but we might use an article on a new form of leadership or a case study on leadership within a certain company.


Evidence
Please provide how you will prove your theme. For example, interviews with experts, a case study, number and statistics and quotes from cutting-edge research, books or topical studies.

Identify the magazine section subhead that you feel your article would most appropriate fall under, using this list:

Requirements:

Originality

We accept only original submissions. Do not pitch previously published material (Internet distribution included). 

Voice

Articles must be written in third person perspective using business style writing, with no endnotes or references for inclusion. 

Word Count

Articles should be 700 to 900 words. If additional words are required to convey your message, obtain approval from the editor.

Final Edit

We reserve the right to edit all articles as needed for content, tone and space, although we do make every effort to ensure contributors are happy with their piece. Articles must never be promotional in nature, and anything construed as self-promotion will be edited out of the article.

Copyright

Submission and acceptance of an article signifies your agreement to allow Lester Communications Inc. 12 months (beginning with publication) of exclusive North American serial rights in all formats, with the non-exclusive right to store the article online indefinitely after that period is over.
