letter from the editor
Welcome to our 12th and final issue of HR
Professional magazine for 2017! We made a lot of
changes this year, and I’m so happy that you’ve been
As you know, we made the shift from a print publication to a
fully digital one at the beginning of this year and have spent the
year studying consumption habits and making tweaks here and
there to serve readers best. Now, each issue sees thousands of
views and more than 3,000 people have downloaded the dedicat-ed
HR Professional app to their mobile devices. We’ll continue to
bring you the engaging, informative content you’ve come to expect
from HR Professional and I know those numbers will continue to
climb in 2018.
With an additional four issues every year comes the require-ment
for a lot more content, and I must thank all of our writers
and expert contributors for adding your voices to HR Professional
this year. For anyone interested in how the submission pro-cess
works, please take a look at our Editorial Calendar and
Submission Guidelines. You can also take a look at all of the 2018
cover themes, posted now. As an interesting note, our most read
article this year was from the April 2017 issue, written by Leigh
Stringer, about eight bad habits that should be banned from the
workplace forever. You can read it here.
In this issue, our cover story is talking about Emerging HR –
trends from 2017 and what the experts are expecting for 2018.
Read that article on page 16. We also recapped some of the best
advice from this year’s HR Influencers; you can find their most
brilliant quotes on page 22.
All of us at Lester Communications Inc. are proud to work with
HRPA to bring you this magazine every month. I sincerely wish
that all HRPA members and HR Professional readers have a won-derful
holiday season and a great start to 2018. We will be back
in January with an issue dedicated to “Beyond Diversity,” and I
hope to see all of you at the HRPA Annual Conference and Trade
Show, Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2018. Registration is open now!
